Sue Warren, local medium, met with Sally Welburn for lunch...

When did you first become into contact with the spirit world?

In my early life, I was about 12. It was then that I started getting psychic experiences.

How did it progress?

In my 20's, I met a medium in the hospital where I was a nurse and it was this person who taught me to read tea cups. In the staff's lunch hours, I would read their tea cups. Then someone bought a set of Tarot cards for my birthday, and so I started using them.

What happened next?

I resigned to look after my little boy and it was then that people began to call me for readings. It was all through word of mouth. I read a few people in someone's house and then it has just gone on and on. I am now in my 4th professional year.

I've heard of mediums doing evenings to raise money for donations, do you have one in particular?

Yes, the LUDA fund is a charity I do lots of events for. I work with a sound healer and another medium, and together we make "The Mystic Team"

We have evenings of entertainment. After the success we had in "The Chestnut Horse" in Kelk, we decided to keep it going.

That's great. Can you sense spirits all the time?

When I'm tuned in. For one event, we did a bit of "Most Haunted". This was where I picked up on things in an old building and it was confirmed by a historian.

What do you think of sceptics?

I like them. I find that when they come for readings, they do say they don't believe but are curious, and they often go away not sceptic. There's not been any aggression or difficulties as everybody has their own belief systems.

How does your work help others?

I navigate people to help them overcome difficulties through what I see. I believe you need a good balance of giving and receiving. You need to eat well too, have plenty of rest. I work in light and love. I have good intentions and give positive messages. I always believe in what I do.
